Last year, for the first time in history, Apple overtook Samsung to sell the most smartphones in a year. The South Korean tech giant had held the number one position since 2011, when it replaced Finland's Nokia in the top spot. In the preliminary analysis the company IDC informed about it. The other places were taken by Chinese companies Xiaomi, Oppo and Transsion. But total smartphone sales fell 3.2 percent last year to 1.17 billion units, the lowest full-year figure in a decade.

Apple increased shipments of its iPhones by 3.7 percent to 234.6 million units last year, according to the survey. Its global market share rose 1.3 percentage points to 20.1 percent. Samsung's shipments, on the other hand, fell 13.6 percent to 226.6 million devices and its market share fell to 19.4 percent from 21.7 percent a year earlier.

IDC said the last time Samsung was not at the top of the annual table was 13 years ago in 2010. Back then, Apple didn't even rank in the top five. Instead, Nokia topped the list, followed by Samsung, LG Electronics, ZTE and Research in Motion (maker of BlackBerry devices).

COMVERGA invests in joint ventures with strategic partners to ensure the long-term development of key projects. One such venture is Quadruple, which has acquired a 100% stake in the virtual mobile operator KlokanMobil. COMVERGA will take over the operation of this operator in a fully collaborative BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) mode. This will enable the optimization of the operator's operating costs and at the same time expand the range of services for Klokan's customers with additional services from the group's portfolio.

This acquisition strengthens COMVERGA's market position and further increases its market share.

At the end of 2023 COMVERGA successfully passed the ISO/IEC 27001 recertification in the area of information management in telecommunication and payment services. The extension of the certificate for another 3 years by the renowned TÜV SÜD organization is a significant step that confirms the company's ability to comply with and continuously improve its information management system.

CAMPERSIM by ProVerDa GmbH represents another successful project launched on the COMVERGA platform. This service, offered by our German partner, allows users and motorhome owners to stream their favorite series, surf the Internet and work remotely without restrictions. CAMPERSIM opens up unlimited Internet possibilities on the go. 

The end user does not have to worry about running out of data on the SIM card. In a simple user interface, he can easily monitor the status of his data, order another data package and make a payment directly through the payment gateway.  

Its data limit will be increased as needed, and the user will also receive the necessary documents, which are generated fully automatically. 

Thanks to our COMVERGA Billing for FUSION IoT solution, the partner has the opportunity to individually define their packages with different names and prices. It can modify these settings at any time or establish specific conditions for its customers.  

COMVERGA was one of the first to commercially connect to the networks of Czech operators through the RCS standard. It thus gains the opportunity to provide its services and communication platform for companies that want to use RCS for their marketing and communication needs. This enables these businesses to interact with their customers through enhanced RCS features and provide them with a richer and more interactive communication experience. 

Thanks to this, COMVERGA used RCS during the summer of 2023 for the first commercial campaign and communication with target groups. Our platform allows a simple way to define a complete campaign, including target groups, content and communication channels. This means that RCS can be effectively used as a means of interacting with customers through attractive competitions, offers and other forms of communication.

Jako každý rok jsme měli tu čest být přítomni na Mobile World Congress (MWC) v Barceloně, který je jedním z největších a nejvýznamnějších veletrhů mobilních technologií na světě. Tento rok se konal od 27 února do 2. března a nabídl návštěvníkům neuvěřitelný pohled na to, co nás čeká v oblasti mobilních technologií v budoucnu.
